Project

White Farm Modernization

Location

Weston, MA

Project Description

Constructed in 1795, the White Farmhouse is a historic structure that had been condemned for over a decade following its use as a dormitory. A comprehensive needs assessment was completed, and Meander Studio continues to work with the client to explore restoration options that preserve the building’s character while addressing its structural challenges. The front façade, significantly deteriorated, has been carefully documented to guide future replication efforts, with special attention to the original detailing around the main entry.

After multiple site visits, photographing, and taking dimensions, our team was able to digitally model the front door façade using CAD and Rhinoceros 7. We were able to recreate the bevels and the different depths of the front façade by closely referencing the pictures and dimensions taken from site visits.

Meander Studio did nearly 20 iterations using Rhinoceros 7 and conceptual topographic data. We created designs that were modern, traditional, spacious, and economical. Each design maintains the front façade, while meeting the client's requirements.
