About Us

Meander Studio was founded by Mike Wolfson and Denise Dea, grounded in the belief that thoughtful design emerges through dialogue, curiosity, and care. Their founding principles continue to guide the way we work today.

We are a diverse team of designers with a wide range of backgrounds, perspectives, and talents. This diversity fuels our collaborative approach, allowing us to challenge assumptions, explore alternative ideas, and arrive at design solutions that are both imaginative and grounded. Our experience spans projects throughout the Northeast, with expertise in everything from affordable housing to adaptive reuse.

We work closely with clients and communities through an iterative design process—listening first, then building design solutions that are environmentally responsive, technically sound, and beautifully crafted.

Principal Mike Wolfson brings over 25 years of architectural experience in the greater Boston area. As a small studio, we are intentionally hands-on, ensuring each project receives the focused attention it deserves and that our clients have direct access to our team throughout.

Our services and past project types include:

  • Affordable Housing

  • Capital Needs Assessments

  • Retail Banking

  • Corporate Interiors

  • Historic Renovations

  • Community Centers

  • K–12 and Charter Schools

  • Owner’s Project Management

  • At Meander Studio we are committed to advancing sustainable design and aligning our work with the AIA 2030 Challenge. Our approach emphasizes thoughtful integration of energy efficiency, resilience, and long-term building performance. Our team is fluent in emerging energy standards and policy frameworks such as the Massachusetts Stretch Energy Code and Executive Orders 569 and 594, and we work closely with sustainability consultants and engineers to craft practical, high-impact solutions to achieve energy reduction, Passive House performance, or net-zero readiness. We believe every project, regardless of scale, presents an opportunity to move toward a more sustainable and resilient built environment.

  • At Meander Studio, we believe that diverse perspectives strengthen design, collaboration, and community. We are committed to creating and maintaining an equitable, inclusive environment - both within our studio and across the projects and partnerships we pursue.

We strictly adhere to all federal, state, and local equal employment opportunity laws and are dedicated to providing a workplace free of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation of any kind. Our team values the unique backgrounds, identities, and experiences of every individual, and we encourage open dialogue, respect, and accountability in all aspects of our work.

Beyond our studio, set internal diversity goals on every project to expand opportunity and representation in our industry.

Diversity is not just a requirement for us. Rather, it is a core value and a driver of creativity, innovation, and better outcomes for the people and communities we serve.
