Project Description

Meander Studio was commissioned by Alma del Mar, a successful charter school in New Bedford, Massachusetts, to complete a feasibility study of two potential sites, followed by a DCAMM-approved study. A key element of the design strategy was planning for phased growth as the school expanded, ensuring long-term flexibility. The proposed design organized adaptable learning spaces around a central learning commons, fostering collaboration and community. Following the DCAMM selection process, another architect was chosen to carry the project through construction, and the new school has since been completed.
